9:13 p.m.

Despite how nice the weather was Thursday, I couldn’t bring myself to step out and venture over to my local bookstore to pick up my preorders for the month. So I decided to go yesterday and take myself out to brunch before I browsed the shelves.

My eyes were almost bigger than my stomach. But I don’t regret my order of corn hash, scrambled eggs, potatoes and a single waffle along with a peach bellini. While I waited, I did some writing for the blog. Being out of the apartment was a pleasant change of environment as I wrote. I did something similar in August. I wouldn’t be opposed to these monthly writing dates. Perhaps a resolution for next year…

Once the café started getting busy, I left and headed over to Book House to browse for a hour before picking up my three books:

☆ Michiko Aoyama’s What You Are Looking For Is in the Library

☆ Ethan M. Aldridge’s Deephaven

☆ Two Lines Press’ Elektrik: Caribbean Writing

Books acquired, I enjoyed another day of nice weather as I walked home, mostly wondering where I’ll put this newest stack of books and how we might get something resembling an autumn season this year.
