Ferdinand Cardigan (1)

So.

A small setback.

I alternate between projects so I’m not stuck doing the same motions for too long. Despite those efforts, I believe I overworked my wrist while working on a blanket. I took a break so the pain wouldn’t get worse (an unfortunate combination of on-and-off heavy lifting and a new stitch I was just learning.) During said break, I took stock of my current yarn stash, noted some future projects and searched for more skeins of the Icy Blue, to no avail. The break did me a lot of good cause the pain is mostly gone! I’m putting off more work on the blanket for the time being.

updated pattern (left); previous work (right); cryptid sighting (farther right)

As for the cardigan itself, I’m swapping up the pattern just a bit.

I’ve added a column of three chain stitches after each bead stitch and have to say, I enjoy the structure of this more. It may be that I’ve gotten use to the bead stitch in general but I’m almost back to where I was on the first attempt.

So round! Much heft! Wow!

And the first attempt had been completely frogged. I’ll be working with two skeins worth of yarn once I tied it to the end of my current skein. Maybe more Icy Blue will be available by the time I update my notes and have a new estimate of how much yarn I’ll need to finish off the cardigan.

I’m excited to be working on the cardigan again!
