Crow Time
Who would have thought a comic about crows getting into mystical and mundane shenanigans was exactly what I wanted as I went about my own Monday shenanigans.

Ascendance of a Bookworm
I know at 5 p.m. the next chapter of Ascendance of a Bookworm will be released by J-Novel Club, with perhaps the exception of certain holidays. I’ll open the app, scroll through the chapter to see what illustration is draw for it before returning to the beginning to read the chapter in full. This has been my ritual since I caught up to the story in the print version and swapped to digital. This is nothing new.
Being aware of how quickly we’re heading towards the end of the Incarnation of the Goddess arc (and the series as a whole) should have me wondering what I’ll do between then and the release of whatever work Miya Kazuki puts out into the world after she finishes Rozemyne’s story. Key word being should. I’ll be sure to bump it up on my list of worries later.
Cultivate: Slow Life on a Monster-Infested Mountain
The summary described Cultivate as Scum Villain meets Stardew Valley with brief moments of monster fighting. How do you pass up a fanfiction on just that description alone? The correct answer is you don’t.
After failing to possess the body of the scum villain Shen Qingqiu, and unfortunately pissing off said villain, Shen Yuan does what anyone with a will to live would do: he sets up residence on a supposedly haunted and monster-infested mountain no one in their right mind would bother with in hopes of living a simple life. But the plot won’t make it that easy for the transmigrator.
I’m glad I’m not the only person this fic has caught in a chokehold. From the intricate world-building to the weaving of canon through new and complex plot points, there’s never been a time when I was reading where I hoped for more of the story. It’s a fun story.
And I hope NeonGhostCat is having as much fun writing it as I am reading it.
