Nano Prep – Oct. 2021

Recently, my friend and I talked about our NaNoWriMo plans for this year.

October is a month spent preparing outlines and working out any major kinks your project might have so you can focus on pumping out as many words as possible the following month. It’s also a good month for an accountability post!

I still plan to chip away at “Others That Mother” (formerly “Reading the Roots“) while completing two short stories for Nano.

First: “The Soldier Stands Alone
A documentary team investigates a manor that belonged to a well-known theater actress, who was supposedly known for performing for the supernatural. They may have stumbled upon more than they realize.

Second: “Untitled
Two space pilots are tasked with taking a decommissioned deity to a scrap yard.
When their ship suddenly goes off course halfway through the trip, authorities follow their trail through a series of station camera footage, reported sightings and personal recordings, to figure out what is happening.

I’m excited to start outlines for both but the second might be too ambitious for a short story. Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing how much we get done for Nanowrimo!

Happy writing!
