NaNoWriMo 2020

Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo. Like a number of writers, I spent most of October deciding what story to dedicate the entire month of November to and came to a conclusion. Sort of.

I don’t usually strive for the Nano goal of writing a novel. It’s a bit ambitious for me. So I decided on something different. Instead, I’ll be working on story outlines as I did last year.

Get Your Gun WIP

During an extraction mission, Mina Rook lost her team to a monster. Four years later, she’s back to face it again.

Rook’s story came from a dream I had about two or three months ago. One that that insists on hanging around. So now I’m working on Rook’s story and what she’ll do when faced with the same decision again.

Reading the Roots

A woman in want of a child. A forest that craves for more. And Tesh, the woman who will fulfill the wishes of both.

This was inspired by a thought I had while thinking about the Norwegian folktale, Prince Lindworm. How in some tales secrets are made to be kept so that the involved party doesn’t expose the length they took to achieve their goal. I began to wonder what those same people, bound by a secret, would do and why. So, I want Roots to be a story about how far love can take you before you break.

A Place for Papers

A collection of short stories of one Tone “Braz” Baraz and his supernatural postal adventures.

I’ll be honest: this is just pure self-indulgence. A place to put the ideas I know won’t get the attention I want to give them but still want to explore in some way.

Three projects over the span of thirty days. Of course, I won’t be writing everyday but my hope is to brainstorm a few more short stories and knock out some major plot points for the other two. And if you’re reading this and also happen to be participating in Nano this year: good luck and happy writing!
